Caltizdorp River Erosion Protection Works
During March 2000, the catchment area of Gamka River experienced high intensity rainfall that caused large-scale floods and flood damage. Of particular interest was the erosion that took place near the town of Calitzdorp. More that a 1000 metres along the river was seriously eroded, washing away orchards and vineyards on the riverbank for a width of more than 120 metres from the river including the Irrigation Board's canal.

The GET SET Project
GET SET! Is an acronym for Girls' Education and Training for Science, Engineering and Technology. They remain the most severely disadvantaged group in respect of opportunities to enter higher education.
ATOK Integrated Rural Development Initiative
This initiative, implemented in the ATOK villages within the Fetakgomo Municipal boundaries, seeks to address high levels of unemployment and poverty and the lack of an integrated and co-ordinated effort to combat poverty. Therefore they implemented a coherent socio-economic development strategy that involves various role-players in an effort to meet these objectives.
