Ms Rhoda Kadalie

Ms Rhoda Kadalie was a former Human Rights Commissioner responsible for the Western Cape and Northern Cape, an academic and founder of the Gender Equity Unit at the University of the Western Cape. Ms Kadalie has travelled extensively internationally, presenting lectures and papers on human rights and gender politics in South Africa.

In 1999 she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Liberal Arts from the University of Uppsala, Sweden; in 2007 she recieved an Honorary Doctorate of Literature from her alma mater - the University of the Western Cape. She is a columnist for the Business Day, Die Burger and Beeld.
